Medical Technologist - General
Performs examinations and testing of materials derived from the human body of all age groups served for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of any disease of impairment of, or the assessment of, the health of human beings. These examinations also include procedures to determine, measure, or otherwise describe the presence or absence of various substances or organisms in the body. Position requires the ability to develop, evaluate, and perform laboratory procedures using a high degree of independent judgment as well as integrity and accuracy in test performance and reporting of results. Requires the ability to work under stress and good communication skills and ability to work with people.
1. Preferred BS degree. Will accept MLT with AS degree.
2. Preferred MLS , ASCP or NCA. Will accept AMT or HEW .
3. Someone with recent clinical experience in a medium sized hospital or larger. Students completing their internships are fine. In some ways preferred.
4. Generalist experience with some blood bank. Antibody identification for blood bank
5. Not interested in they have been out of the field for 2 or more years.
6. Wants to move and live in NW Arizona.
They will get $5,000 for signing an agreement to stay for 2 years.they get this after their first 90 day's assuming their review is good.
The position is going to be day shift -- start time of 0530 and end time of 1400 -- it does include every other weekend.
We are just about finished with a complete and total lab remodel -- it will be finished in December!!! Both of our Pathologists were trained by the renowned Mayo Clinic and are both young and hungry to make our lab the complete reference lab for the entire region. So employees of our lab are going to be able to do all of the same testing that you would find in a major metro hospital, but still live in a smaller community. We have great schools, a nice town and every outdoor activity you can think of.
The town and the surrounding area has a population of about 40,000 people and is currently experiencing a growth rate of about 6% annually. It has a highly rated hospital and several medical facilities as well as major shopping areas(with more being added). The public school system offers several elementary schools, a junior high school, two high school campuses and there are also charter schools in the area. Post-secondary education is provided by Mohave Community College and a branch of Northern Arizona University.
Recreational opportunities include golf courses, parks and trail systems. The Hualapai, Cerbat and Black mountains that surround the area offer numerous recreational opportunities. Mohave County boasts 1,000 miles of shoreline on the Colorado River, which includes Lake Mead, Lake Havasu, and Lake Mohave. These areas provide fishing, boating, swimming, and other water sports. Just east of the town is beautiful Hualapai Mountain Park, which is at an elevation of 6,700 feet. Offered there is overnight camping, picnicking, hiking and other activities. Nearby there are ghost towns and old mining town sites including Oatman and Chloride. These places are interesting to visit and they help preserve the heritage of the area.
